The Centre for Public Policy Governments and Communities in Partnership conference invites you to consider offering a paper or presentation for consideration in this three-day event. Both traditional Academic Abstracts from academics and researchers wanting to submit papers for refereeing, as well as Practitioner Presentations from individuals, groups, consultants, government department are being called for. We are looking for papers and presentations in the following areas:

  • why collaboration matters
  • the role of place
  • governance models and issues
  • health, environment and indigenous collaborations
  • funding and financing issues
  • democratic accountability
  • evaluating the impacts of local partnerships, and
  • leadership and skills for collaborative governance.  
  • Speaking time will be between 15 and 20 minutes with 10 minutes for discussion.
  • All speakers are required to register for the conference (either a day pass or full conference pass), but are entitled to the early bird price whenever they register.

Other relevant areas will be considered. Please read on for submission guidelines:

The Call for Academic Papers is open until April 30, 2006. If you intend on submitting an academic paper for this conference, please be mindful that papers are required for referring by July 31, 2006 (click here for style guidelines). Papers will be refereed according to DEST guidelines and will be uploaded onto the Governments and Communities in Partnership website following the conference.

Papers submitted for refereeing must be deemed publishable in any equivalent international refereed journal. Articles previously submitted and accepted for publication elsewhere may not be submitted for publication.

In order for your abstract to be considered, please submit the following:

  • paper title
  • 300 word abstract
  • one paragraph biography
  • electronic photograph

The Call for Practitioner Presentations is open until April 30, 2006. The Calls for Practitioner Presentations is open for individuals, groups, consultants, government department wishing to make a presentation about on:

  • a case study
  • narrative on a current program
  • a model or funding innovation
  • discussion of a governance question or problem

In order for your proposal to be considered, please submit the following:

  • presentation title
  • 150 word prose summary of presentation
  • one paragraph biography
  • electronic photograph

  • Speaking time will be between 15 and 20 minutes with 10 minutes for discussion.
